LONSURF – (trifluridine and tipiracil)

LONSURF is made up of two drugs, which is used to treat certain types of stomach cancer, gastroesophageal junction cancer, and colorectal cancer. It is used in patients whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body and has already been treated with other anticancer drugs. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Lonsurf stops cells from making DNA, which may help prevent cancer cells from dividing and may kill them. It is a type of antimetabolite and thymidine-phosphorylase inhibitor. Also called trifluridine and tipiracil hydrochloride.
