TEPADINA – (tiotepa)

Tepadin is used in combination with chemotherapy in two ways: As a “conditioning” (preparatory) treatment before a transplant of hematopoietic stem cells (the cells that make blood). This type of transplant is used in patients who need to replace their hematopoietic cells because they have a blood disease, such as a blood cancer (including leukemia) or a disease that reduces the red blood cell count (such as thalassemia or sickle cell anemia). , and during the treatment of solid tumors, when high-dose chemotherapy followed by hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is needed.

Tepadina can be used for the transplantation of cells from a donor and for the transplantation of cells derived from the patient’s own organism.
